The Day I Forgot Pajama Day (And Why It’s Okay to Be “That Mom”)

The Day I Forgot Pajama Day (And Why It’s Okay to Be “That Mom”)

Let me paint the picture:

I’m rushing out the door, coffee in hand (cold, of course), trying to get everyone to school on time. I’m feeling proud — hair’s brushed, everyone’s dressed, lunchboxes packed. We did it.

Until I pull up to the school and see an entire sea of little Spider-Men and unicorn onesies…
and my kid?
In jeans. And a shirt that says “I Still Live With My Parents.”

Cue the mom guilt. Cue the “how did I miss the email??” panic.

But then… my son looks at me, shrugs, and says,
“It’s okay, Mom. I like jeans.”

And just like that, I remembered something:
We are doing our best. Even when we miss the memo. Even when the day feels chaotic. Even when we show up in jeans on pajama day.

🌿 So here’s your reminder, Mama:

  • You don’t have to be perfect to be amazing.
  • Your kids need your love, not your Pinterest board.
  • And the world won’t end if you forget pajama day (trust me).

If no one’s told you lately: You’re doing a good job. Even on the messy days. Especially on the messy days.

Now go reheat that coffee — again.
And remember, this space is for you. No judgment. Just us moms.

💛

Hayley
